Cement tile is speciality product and will need extra care in installation.
Please note that all cement tiles will need to be sealed after the installation.
Cement tiles are a speciality product and needs to be installed in a professional way unlike conventional ceramic tiles. In order to do that we reccommend below:
Adhesive: Cementitous thinset mortar is recommended as they are strong, flexible and allows a longer open time. Another primary reason to use thinset is because in this way the tile layer can avoid beating the tile with mallet to set the tiles. Beating with mallet or hammer will cause damage to tiles that will show up at later stage.
Grouting: A grout gap of atleast 0.5mm is recommended so as to allow the grout to enter the full thickness of the tile. EPOXY GROUTS ARE TO BE AVOIDED. We provide grouts alongwith the tiles which can be matched to a neutral grey that suits the pattern or any other color from the pattern. EPOXY GROUTS ARE TO BE AVOIDED.
Sealing: All tiles are to be sealed using an impregnating sealer to make it stain, oil and water resistant. While we claim the sealants provide protection it does not mean they are PROOF. Any spills will need to be cleaned of in a short span of time.
Sealant Recommendations:
- Miracle 511 Impregnator.
- Tenax Proseal (Dry Look)
- Tenax Ager (Wet Look)
Laying/installation/application charges will need to be discussed with your contractors before hand and every aspect of the jobs needs to be mentioned before a quote is being accepted.
